Although rarely talked about by environmentalists or politicians, the most important factor in carbon emissions is sprawl. Cities are better for the environment than any other type of development. Fortunately, Tweed Guitars is based in two major cities, Portland, Oregon, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Simply by locating ourselves in metropolitan areas we are able to reduce the amount of energy we use in our manufacturing processes and transportation methods. This results in less carbon in the atmosphere and a reduction in the gases responsible for global climate change. Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond the manufacturing process of guitars; it is our lifestyle. Cities are essential in protecting the environment, and as such, it is important that we have located ourselves there.
